All in a days work
I spent half of my time in the office, helping out some of my colleagues do their programs and understand table structure concepts. I'm no expert, but I do like to teach. I even considered teaching before but I was afraid to push through with my plans because I have high regards to professors since you are expected to enlighten your students. I am afraid that I may not meet such expectations like some of my teachers who disappointed me. Although, there are those who really makes an effort to make a difference like Mrs. Velasco, Mrs. Torres, Sir Grepo, Mr. Villan, Mr. Bathan, Ms. Tanael, and Mr. Tanos. I admit most of the teachers I like are not the popular ones. But hey somehow they made an impact on me. An impact that I will be forever grateful.
Anyways, part of our job as a developer is being able to foresee the future. Yes, like the fortune teller. You have to be ready on all the possible things your user
would do to your program. Dapat kahit paano malakas ang imagination mo -- maiisip mo kung saan, kailan, paano at bakit mapupunta ang data sa table na ito, etc. Sigh!!!
By the way, Lui (one of the programmers here) approached me this morning. He tried applying for another company. He said he wasn't able to answer a question in his exam, and he made me try it:
Given the variables integer x and integer y, interchange their values WITHOUT using a temporary variable.
After using my mathematical prowess, I was able to come up with a solution consisting 3 lines of codes (using VB 6.0). Kaya natuwa naman ako kse gumagana pa pala yung utak ko sa ganong mga bagay!!!
